SonarBot is a self-initiated project built around a simple idea: a personal AI assistant that runs entirely on your own machine as a background daemon, keeping its state on disk instead of a cloud database. It serves CLI, Telegram, and Next.js WebChat clients from a single FastAPI WebSocket gateway, with persistent sessions and streamed responses.

Underneath, it uses a hybrid memory engine combining BM25 and vector search with temporal decay and MMR reranking to recall context intelligently. It is action-capable through 15+ pluggable tools—including Playwright browser automation, Gmail integration, and OAuth-authenticated GitHub tools—with policy-based controls governing host system access.
